Paradox 2 - Beyond Eternity (Volume 2) Reviews
I really liked the end of the first book and thought it provided a good conclusion to the story. This was an unexpected addition to the story. Good characters, interesting development. Although some of the results feel "unearned" (and some people are far smarter than they should be), it is a great example of solid science fiction.
This is an interesting sequel, which took quite a different tack from the first book. I'm going to guess that the author had read Poul Anderson's Tau Zero because this story knowingly or otherwise gave a hearty nod to it. The character development lacked a certain subtlety, especially with Ed, but keep in mind that the book is translated from its original German, so that might account for any unevenness. With that said, it was an engaging story, even with the fairy tale ending. You'd never mistake this book for anything written by Baxter or Reynolds.
Travel to the edge of the universe. Thought provoking story but with a little more technology than I needed. Still this is a good read and gives the reader closure to book one.
This book is hard, speculative science fiction at its best; along with great character development. Good read in that genre.
Very interesting ideas here. I enjoyed reading this one from beginning to end. Looking forward to more from this author
Man, it's hard waiting for the translation to English! Thanks, at last!
Characters that are believable, and I always enjoy an ending I didn't expect. The inclusion of actual theoretical science rather that techno able is great.
I could tell after the first few pages that I didn't really want to read this book. I picked it from a listing of "Hard Science Fiction", but it was closer to fantasy. Still, I did find at times that I was enjoying it so it was worth reading. Thank you for the story.
