4.25 StarsDarby just 'Runaway-Brided' it from her own wedding. But she has a good reason - her fiancé is an abusive idiot! And ... she's kinda pregnant - which she just found out in the bathroom at church.Colorado here we come! After selling her wedding dress and buying some normal clothes, she immediately finds a job at a very busy hotel. Busy because all those sexy hotshot firemen stay there. Some huge wildfires are close by.Scott Trexel - Trex - is also staying in that hotel. He's in town for his new job. He's 35 and has been in the military foreve and then in the FBI for a bit and now he's working with a secret private security team. His first day is tomorrow. As soon as he meets Darby he's sure he's finally found the future Mrs. Trex. But of course the girl is way too skittish and scared and hurt for a new relationship. And also ... she's pregnant by another guy, who might or might not have given up looking for her!WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO DARBY & TREX???READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺═════════════════════Well.... Cute Romance ... BUT ;)I already wanted to stop reading after 1 or 2 chapters. I just hate religion and everything connected to it. And there was so much praying and god and church and bible in those first pages already. Ugh.But I also wanted to keep on reading. I was waiting for that story for so long. And I wanted to meet lots of Maddoxes again!!! And I did meet them. Taylor & Tyler are staying in that hotel too! Their stories/books are taking place at the same time!☺But this story. Yes... it was cute and sweet and a bit funny and exciting toward the end. But it's not really anything new. We know she's pregnant and we know that her ex is not done with her. So nothing what happens really comes as a surprise.Trex is great, but he's also a bit sappy with his insta-love-destiny kind of thing.Thank god he's on my side with all that religion stuff! The book was too long - it was filled with too much unnecessary stuff. Too much back and forth between Darby and Trex - she doesn't trust him - he doesn't tell her the whole truth! Which - surprise surprise - turns into fighting! Ugh.It could've been an amazing romantic suspense, but Jamie almost didn't do anything with that secret military compound where Trex works. There could've been some amazing excitement - but nope... for such a long book, they weren't at that compound often enough - or with exciting enough moments. Only one basically. Maybe future books will tell us about that more! We're mostly at the hotel - which was cute. Interesting. It was an okay story. Just not amazing! But I liked Trex and Darby, and all the others. Great supporting cast - I will definitely read all upcoming books about the others!► FROM HERE TO YOU was a really adorable & exciting romance! Run to your nearest amazon asap for your own Trex - he'll be sold out in NO TIME!

I HATE giving bad reviews, especially if it is for an author that I am a big fan of but it was unavoidable with this book.If I had known this book was going to be so centered around God and "his plan" I wouldn't have purchased it. Nothing against the religious, but being from a state that is literally ran by its religion I don't want to have to deal with it in books I read. I got to 34% and after Darby said Trex wasn't a good person because he didn't believe in God and then Trex's sister said that she couldn't date a boy because he wasn't the "right religion" I had to stop. I deal with that kind of crap in real life with neighbors not letting my kids play because we aren't Mormon, not getting a job because I am not Mormon. Just overall being treated like trash because we are not Mormon. If you can't tell, treating people like they are less than because their beliefs are different than yours is a touchy subject for me and I REALLY don't need to deal with that in books. This book was SO CONFUSING. Trex get's this job where he meets his "team", what team? From where? When he worked with the FBI? When he was in the military? Oh, and the whole reason they got the job is because the man who hired them, the MARRIED man, has the hots for the lone female on his team. Character names are thrown around like we are already supposed to know who they are. Memories are brought up and talked about like we, the readers, already know what happened.Trex meets Darby and is just instantly in love with her without saying more than 2 words to each other. Which brings us to Darby. I am all for a heroine who just has something about her that everyone wants to protect but my God! Everyone just fell in love with her as soon as they were in the same room, apparently even some woman. She has no backbone, allows people to walk all over her and treat her like crap. She feels responsible for the deaths of her father and brother and clearly should have sought out professional help for that. She was made out to be nothing but a victim. Molested by multiple men growing up, treated like crap by her mother because she holds her responsible for the death of her brother and father, stayed with an abusive piece of crap just because, she was treated like dirt by said abusive jerks family and just took it. Constantly called herself an idiot, constantly apologized even if she did nothing wrong, couldn't stand to upset people, even if it meant she did something she didn't want to do like going to the movies with one of the hotshots. There are so many other examples in just the 34% that I read that I lost count.Overall the story just bugged the crap out of me. I was confused because religion isn't so slap-you-in-the-face in other books by Jamie. I don't know if she just wanted to try something new or if she recently found/renewed her belief in God and wanted to infuse it in every part of this book or what, but it got annoying. Also, there is no way a person could go through what the heroine did and didn't question the belief in God at least once.I would not recommend this book. You are left feeling like you are missing something because of all the characters whose backstories are missing (like casually mentioning Naomi's husband and how he jumped on a grenade that's it, not other info). You can't feel the chemistry between the characters. I mean hell! There was more chemistry between Trex and Naomi than there was between Trex and Darby. There is definitely lust between the two, but that was it.

I absolutely loved From Here to You by Jamie McGuire. This book follows the story of Trex and Darby. From Here to You is a story about finding yourself, moving on and finding love in the most unexpected places.Darby finds out she is pregnant minutes before she is set to marry her abusive fiancee. She decides she doesn't want her child exposed to a violent household so she flees the ceremony before walking down the aisle. She leaves once he first train out of town and ends up in Colorado. She is able to find a job at a hotel in town and meets a very sweet and persistent man named Trex. She has no interest in a relationship as she just got out of a very bad one but she definitely enjoys Trex company.Trex is in Colorado preparing to start a new job. He quickly notices the new gorgeous employee at the hotel he is staying at and would love to get to know her better. He can tell by the way she acts that she is hiding something but he doesn't push for any info. He tries to spend as much time with her as possible. He quickly realizes she is the woman in his dreams and will do whatever he has to do to make her see how special she is. Will these to be able to let go of their pasts and make a relationship work.I loved the connection between Trex and Darby. The secondary characters added lots of depth to the storyline. It was fun to catch up with the Maddox boys and their spouses. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

I was soooo excited to see a book about Trex and Darby (as I think a lot of people were)! There are moments sprinkled throughout that make you go Oh Yeah!- from things that happened in the Beautiful books. I'm sure you can read this on it's own but you get a fuller experience by reading those first. Anyways-Darby is trying so hard to start fresh and do what's best and she just doesn't even trust her own judgement anymore. I mean, sometimes she can be pretty frustrating when she's looking for any reason to walk away. But I also feel for her. So many years of having other people make you think it's your fault and you don't deserve happiness, that has a way of sticking.Trex is someone I have very mixed feelings about. I got so super irritated with him, because he just keeps things a secret even way past when it's necessary. Maybe he's used to just keeping things hidden throughout his life, so it's second nature, but when all someone asks of you is honesty, give all you can. Ok, so what I do love about him is how caring and thoughtful he is. Also, he's patient, and though he lacks faith in God, he does have faith in everlasting love, which was so endearing.Things get pretty suspenseful and intense later on, making for a very interesting story. This is a great start to the series and I can not wait to see where it all leads.
