Queen Takes Checkmate (Their Vampire Queen Book 5) (English Edition) Reviews
This book was just amazing. It was so full of action, politics and hot men (and women) that adore our Queen. We get to meet amazing new characters that fit into the story perfectly and I can't wait to get to know them better!
Wow! Book 5 of Shara’s journey! I guess you can say the first arch is completed, such a powerful book. Shara and her Blood finally square up to Ra, God of Light. Each book is even better than the last, I love the direction it goes each time.If you haven’t read the series yet get Queen Takes Knights right now. If vampire action erotica is your niche you’ll enjoy this. Gory, blood, sexy, I can’t get enough of it.I’m extremely pleased to find out this won’t be the last book in the series, though we’ll have to wait for 2019 to get the next issue. Probably for the best, Joely Sue has done such an amazing job I hope she enjoys her holidays. To defeat Ra one of her Blood must die... the resolution to this is not what I expected at all, but I can’t say I’m disappointed with the way things turned out. As usual Shara and her world takes me by surprise around every corner.I can’t recommend these books enough. Definitely some of my all time favorites here. I’m so excited to devour whatever else is released. Shara will forever be on my to buy list!——— Minor Spoilers Ahead ———-I’ve always been a huge fan of Shara having female lovers, I’m so excited when she gets a new female Blood! Her temper is as ferocious as Mehen’s, which I love. I can’t wait to see how she fits in with all the others. I think she’ll be one of my absolute favorites!Shara pulling Rik and Daire to her side for a threesome “In case one of us dies.” Heart wrenching but sexy as always, I love how she enjoys her Blood but still treasures the original two who came to her. So sweet.Shara’s new sib, Gwen, is a very interesting character as well! I’m so excited to read her novella when it comes out. Again at the beginning of the year! Can’t wait to read the continuation of the series. Now I need to get all the books in paperback!
Reverse Harem with m/m, w/w, m/m/m/m/w/m/m/m, Blood and gore. This series is not for the squeamish, timid, narrow minded, close hearted or the believer in a passive heroine unwilling to slaughter those who come against her loves. Loves plural not love because a heart that is open enough to believe in a wonderful and wild universe can love enough to share. If you believe that submission in men can make them even stronger and that lust between men and men, women and women, and multiple men and 1 woman is delicious and even more so when flavored with a sprinkling of blood, you will love the series. Read it in order, dessert first (queen takes knights) and then save up for the fulfilling full course decadence that is checkmate!
"What she takes, she loves, and what she loves, she keeps for all time. Long live House Isador!"Officially my favorite book in the series.I'm not exactly sure how to write this review because I want to spoil nothing. This was the longest book in the series and so many, many questions were finally answered. Burkhart's writing is on of the best i have encountered, her characters, and there are many, all stand on and hold a voice of their own. They have shown growth throughout the series and with each chapter. It's hard to pick a favorite between the men in the harem because, like Shara, I loved them all. They each hold a very special place in my heart. I really didn't think I was going to feel so many emotions in this installment but, Burkhart managed to squeeze out a few tears. This was my first Reverse Harem romance and I'm not sure there's any out there that can top this. It was a page-turner from start to finish. And it is a series I will recommend until my dying breath. So, READ THIS RIGHT FLIPPING NOW.
I was excited when I received my copy in my email. I also purchased it today. I read that book in less than a day, and that is only because I have been sick and couldn't continuously read. This book is amazing, emotional, and full of so much information. The way Shara's mother's Blood, one of her new Blood, is able to show things that he has seen? That is an awesome ability that I know Shara will use. Shara is badass in this book just like the other books, but this time she took on Ra, a god, and she learned her new, and last, ability. Can't wait to see what happens next.
So this is the last book in Shara’s series but Joely mentions adding a new book for Shara to take on the Triune. So many questions left unanswered that hopefully Joely gets us answers. So Shara gets more Blood must complete a task to save women, Queens and most importantly little Xochitl, Princess of Unicorns. Joely has a lot of great lines in her books but the most emphasized is what Shara takes, she loves; what she loves she keeps for all time. I love how Joely ties in humor to relieve the tension when a scene becomes stressful. The angst alone causes nail-biting. And keeping in mind it is the simple things that make the most difference and become more significant.
